Our Values

To accomplish our mission MSTA has a set of beliefs that are ingrained in the way we think and act as a professional organization. These values guide our choices as we set our objectives, formulate our strategies, choose our actions, and evaluate our results.

People
  • We shall advocate at the local, state, and national level for science teachers to have an active role in determining the course of science education.
  • We believe success is based on our abilities to listen, to respect, and to respond to the needs of the MSTA membership.

Service
  • We seek to build a collaborative network that will improve science education.

Leadership
  • We believe the responsibility of leadership of MSTA is to promote and carry out the MSTA mission.

Integrity
  • We believe that as educators, our actions and decisions must reflect the highest ethical and professional standards.

Excellence
  • We are committed to sharing and promoting research based best practices in science education that result in science literacy for all learners.

Diversity
  • We are committed to the support of our diverse community of learners and practitioners and to cultural perspectives in science.
